The Midtown area is unlike any other in Omaha. It was largely developed prior to World War II, when development patterns encouraged a mixture of uses. Midtown contains a variety of residential options and residents can work, shop, play and learn within walking distance of their homes
"It's so easy to commute if you live and work in Midtown," said Jim Farho, resident in the Blackstone Neighborhood. "It's called walking."
Perhaps one of the defining features of Midtown stems from its location immediately west of downtown Omaha. Crossed by numerous regional transportation routes, including Dodge Street, the dominant arterial road within the metro area, Midtown is easily traversed and navigated by residents, employees and visitors.
